New Zealand international forward Gabi Rennie has signed with Swedish second-tier club Eskilstuna United DFF on a one-year contract.
Rennie (23) has moved from Finland, where she played her first season of professional football for Åland United, who play in the Kansallinen Liiga, Finland’s top women’s league.

Coach Rickard Johansson said of his new signing: “She could have played significantly higher in the league systems so we are very happy that she wants to join our journey here in Eskilstuna United.
“The fact that she has already played in the Nordics and done well in the Finnish league is also a positive thing because then the acclimation will be easier.”
Rennie, who has earned 40 caps and scored twice for the full New Zealand team, scored six goals for Åland United. She has represented New Zealand at two Olympic Games, and was a member of the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup squad.
She told fans of her new club: ”I hope I can bring some experience to the team and help drive high standards on and off the field.
”I think fans can expect me to run and be direct. I like to work hard to get the ball and will recover defensively when I need to. I like to be 1v1 and take my defenders on.”
Before her move to Finland, Christchurch-born Rennie played college football in the United States with the Indiana Hoosiers and the Arizona State Sun Devils.
