He said he was itchy and needed a scratch your honour
*Fires assault rifle* “It’s a true mystery how people keep dying around here.”
I’ll never forgot reading about a police liaison officer who toured schools to try and discourage children from getting involved with gangs and knife crime. The most common question he received from children was “where should I stab someone if I don’t want to kill them?”.
That’s the level of stupidity we’re dealing with here.
Just a cheeky chap that was the life of the party and aspiring football player
You know what, I appreciate your honesty. Let him go.
See I take the view that if you stab someone, you are intending to kill them, and it should be treated as such,i.e attempted murder.
Also, they didn’t ask the obvious question: “Are you aware that stabbing someone can kill them?”
“I didn’t think perforating organs and arteries would kill them, your honour,”
There was a very similar case a couple of years ago – wonder if the sentences will be of the same tier.

We should treat knives like how the yanks treat guns.
In that if you use one, its inherently comes with the intention to kill.
I think British courts gobble this nonsense defence up.
Obviously since he didn’t intent to kill him, it’s not murder, despite the fact that he stabbed him repeatedly.
Tbh, he may be telling the truth. He was likely drunk, obviously angry and probably not thinking past, “I want to hurt this guy” but every adult should be aware that stabbing someone multiple times is very likely to cause their death. This should be treated as murder, regardless of intent in the moment. If that is not the law, the law should be changed.
I just can’t take it seriously that he had no intention to kill. I can believe he didn’t care if what he did led to the victims death.
But not caring in this case is essentially the same thing as intending.
If I drive my car into a crowd I may not even know who I’m about to hit. It would be hard to point to a single individual and say I’d intended for that specific person to die. But clearly the act is obviously one that can lead to death.
At least the victim is alive and gets to watch his attacker receive justice.
