Volunteers from an Oxfordshire charity were busy hedge-laying over the festive period.

Earth Trust volunteers were out in Rookery Wood, re-establishing the hedges.

The charity, based at Little Wittenham, works all year round to champion access and engagement with natural green spaces.

“The teams have been working on re-establishing hedges in Rookery Wood, at the foot of the Wittenham Clumps, and along the border of Broad Arboretum.

“Their skilled work is helping to define boundaries using the age-old countryside craft, and creating new habit havens for wildlife.

“Our huge thanks to the volunteers for being out in all weathers, week in week out, and making such great progress. See you in 2025 for the second half of the season.”
