  3. When will the money hit CA’s books? If CA doesn’t get the money by the 19th, Trump will stop it on the 20th. Like he did for state of WA.

    Going to miss that level of efficiency over the next 4 years

  11. Newsom is working his azz off. The right wing are trying to make him look bad, but honestly, I’m impressed, and he’s doing everything possible to help.

  12. Blue state governors are dragging their asses. If they think Trump will be offering any federal assistance for disaster relief they are delusional.

    If you live in a blue state (regardless of your politics), it is time to prepare for self reliance when the next tornado/hurricane/blizzard/flood/earthquake hits.

  15. With all respect for the lives lost and the incredible hardships, the devastation and loss of businesses will have national, maybe even global implications economically.

  19. It’s interesting how quickly federal aid can flow when there’s a competent administration in place. The past few years have shown us just how crucial effective leadership is during crises. One can only hope that this level of responsiveness becomes the norm, rather than the exception.

  27. Once the fires are over many more people are going to lose their homes come spring from landslides from the now barren land. Just in time for more scumbags set more major fires the coming summer. And more homes lost from landslides….. It’s a depressing doom loop.
