The one issue with the Jay report has been the distinct lack of police reforms. Not a single factor thst looked into how they messed up this badly. And the excuse that they didn’t want to be seen as racist is not enough. It’s very flimsy and it was not consistent at all. Especially since at the time police had no issue doing “random” searches of ethnic minorities without any outrage coming out. Having said that, this is still not an excuse to delay the recommendations of the Jay report which still need to be implemented.
And THIS is why people are begging, crying out for a new, national level inquiry, with the power to legally compel witnesses.
It’ll go the same way as the Russian voting interference report.
