  1. In the first months of the full-scale war, Anton Slepakov, the leader of the famous Ukrainian band called VGNVZH, started writing texts about the new reality of Ukrainians. Later, his friend and colleague Andrii Sokolov wrote music for them. This is how the “warniakiannia” project was born (a wordplay made of the English word “war” and the Ukrainian word meaning “babbling”).

Currently, artists primarily visit the liberated and frontline territories with concerts, and transfer all profits to volunteers who supply the army. According to rough calculations, by now, they have raised more than 25 thousand dollars.

In this video, you will learn about creativity during the war and how the music by “warniakiannia” is perceived by the locals in the frontline and de-occupied territories.

Since the full-scale invasion began, supporting our team and gathering donations has become more challenging as we, like everyone else in Ukraine, focus on fundraising for our defenders. Now, we turn to you—the international community and supporters of Ukraine—to help us continue producing vital stories that not only support Ukraine’s fight against invasion but also remind the world of the value of freedom.
