Does it mean Russia is the third strongest army in ukraine?
Guys, when you say stuff like Russian army is nothing, willingly or not, you are belittling the bravery and heroism of ZSU. I talk to people who participate in combat. They don’t say stuff like this. It is a tough opponent and it takes A LOT to fight him, to stand against him.
Thanks for attention.
I always took the cannon fodder statement to mean the soldiers are sent into situations unsupported, not that their will to fight is lacking.
Stop using capital R instead please use lower case russia.
Slava Ukraini!
Like the Japanese in WW2 they were fierce fighters but more importantly they were extremely loyal to the Emperor and the cause. They simply saw themselves as expendable and surrender was never an option.
is “meat grinder” also a disparaging term to the Ukrainians?
I’m kinda surprised Russia hasn’t been using ballistic riot shields to try and lessen effects of drone attacks. I’m sure weight may play a BIG part.
Neat part about the North Koreans shooting down a surprising number of drones, one guy draws attention and the others direct their fire. I guess the next step in the evolution is for the drones to hunt in pairs, one drone draws the fire by going after the guy that draws the attention and the other drone goes after the ones that shoot. The dance of measure and countermeasure.
Russia and NK are dangerous, with devious and evil people at the top. It will take everything Ukraine and the collective West have to resist them. I hope we put more into this war.. we need to.
Sounds a bit like Japs in WW2. Zealots who are willing to self-sacrifice rather than being caught. Extremely dangerous foe that can be extremely attritional. The Americans dropped the bombs partially, because fighting the Japs was so costly, since they wouldn’t surrender.
Yeah, all the armchair observers constantly parroting this cringey immature “Herp derp Russians are useless cannon fodder LOLOL GG EZ clap” and such nonsense don’t seem to understand the Russian tactics and it is insulting to what the Ukrainians are having to deal with.
The Russians are corrupt, often inept but they also have the potential to be brutally effective in some assaults due to their willingness to be completely inhumane. They don’t just send cannon fodder with no purpose, they do this as a cynical tactic in which they expend the lives of poor quality soldiers in order to get recon information for their actual good units.
What they do is use “cannon fodder” not to take Ukrainian positions, but to expose and exhaust them. Imagine you’re in a trench and for 12 hours straight you are having to constantly kill people who are trying to rush your position and stab you to death in vicious close combat. These enemies may be weak and poorly equipped, but it is psychologically and physically taxing to constantly have to fight them over and over again.
Then, when you are low on supplies and Russian special forces have figured out how your defences work against these shitty troops, they drop a ton of artillery on your position and attack with their actual well-equipped and dangerous forces with proper support. Very, very nasty warfare and the Ukrainians are brave to stand against it as well as they do.
Die hard soldiers dying hard.
Strange situation.
NK can not allow a soldier to return and tell anyone back home that the West treats POWs with respect for the Geneva Convention. (or even that there is a Geneva Convention?
The whole grenade to the head thing probably won’t seem like such a good idea anymore if you know there’s a warm bed and clean sheets waiting on the other side..
