  1. So, what should Norway do if Putin or Trump attack Svalbard?

Please be as creative and humorous as you would like.

  2. Well at least then the bottle of iodine pills in my cabinet will actually get used.

  3. At least we have been shivering more from the cold weather recently.

  4. We have our notorious fishermen with nets. The USA has already felt the nets, are the Russians next?

  5. We’ll just let Major General Sir Nils Olav III, Baron of the Bouvet Island fix it for us. As a general he is known for having some really interesting and different plans for many different things.

  6. This makes no sense. Sure, Trump is clowning as usual, but the US has been interested in Greenland for centuries, and tried buying it off Denmark as recent as after WW2. It should not come as a shock that the US still has a hard on for Greenland.

The US has not had any historical interest in Svalbard, and it would be very surprising if even Trump started clowning about this.

  7. Greenland is mostly due to the resources going by Trump buddies that want the island for their little project, inc Dermank’s new US ambassador. I doubt they would care about Svalbard. Not suited for golf courses due to all the polar bears. Trump is only used to alligators

  8. Jan Mayen is very close, in fact. And why stop at Svalbard … why not Norway itself? This is old-style expansionism simply. We are back in the pre-WWII days.
