Hi, so I am travelling to vienna from prague and my friend took the vaccination in july, is she allowed to enter vienna or not? I am pretty confused by the wording here, she is 2 doses.

  1. Austria is lifting most restrictions on Saturday, so you should be fine. However, you do count as „unvaccinated“ here, because you haven’t gotten your booster shot yet

Edit: Vienna has stricter rules, so‘d likely have to visit somewhere else in Austria

  2. If she has a two dose vaccine, then her vaccine is valid for 270 day to enter Austria. If she got her 2nd dose on, let’s say, 14th of July, her vaccine is valid to enter Austria until 10th of April 2022.

On the other hand, IN Austria, 2 doses are valid only for 180 days. When a person gets a booster dose (3rd dose), the vaccine is then valid for 270 days. So, since your friend only has 2 doses, her vaccine certificate is no longer valid in Austria, meaning that she cannot enter the places where a vaccine certificate is required. In Vienna the covid rules are still strict and stricter compared to the rest of Austria. In Vienna you can enter a restaurant only if you have a vaccine or recovery certificate, a pcr (or any other) test is not valid. So, your friend won’t be able to enter practically anything in Vienna, where 2G rule applies. If there is any place where 3G rule is applied, she can enter there, but only with a test.

Therefore, your friend should get her 3rd dose if she wants to do anything in Vienna. She can travel to Austria with her vaccine certificate, but when in Vienna, she practically can’t enter many places.
