1. This reminds me of the incident where Greenpeace defaced the Nazca Lines. It didn’t bring awareness to the issue, it just made them look like meanies. And I feel like Just Stop Oil has been being counterproductive to their stated goal. Does this really help beyond making people mad? No. It would be more productive if they instead did things to take down oil’s monopoly. Like help people get resources.

3. Wouldn’t be surprised if this is being financed by Oil companies whose goal is to make them look stupid and ineffectual. Try spray painting a CEO.

   “Darwin once said- ‘It is not the strongest of the species, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most adaptable to change, that lives within the means available and works cooperatively against common threats.’

   Last year was the hottest since modern humans evolved. If we do not work together to reign in the corporations and billionaires driving us beyond our means, humanity will not be able to adapt to what is coming. We are on course to lose everything, and politicians are doing nowhere near enough to prevent it. How many will we have to bury as a result of climate breakdown and who will be left to mourn them?”

6. I feel like JSO would get more people on their side if they stopped vandalizing public art and architecture and instead took a page out of Luigi’s book.

7. Reporting on these incidents always omit that it’s not actual spray paint but usually a chalk based paint that is easily removed and causes no damage.

8. I support JSO and XR and the likes, because … what does art or other human made structure matter, if we are killing everything with fossile fuels.

   What does culture and history matter if we lose our civilization and ecosystems.
