One thing I didn’t realise when I first watched it is that this version has had audio added for ambience.
This makes me inescapably sad — think about what’s going to happen in about 17 years; how many of those kids are going to be cut down on some barbed wire by the mechanization of death, trampled and buried in the mud by their fleeing friends, coughing the mucosal lining of their lungs out as they struggle for breath and drown in their own body, or evaporated into a red mist in a Krupps barrage — never to be seen again.
