  12. this was initially revealed (*entertainment weekly* or *premier* b-t-s expose)… Liu was unhappy with her performance in a particular scene (feat. Murray) and rather than follow proper, film-set etiquette (i.e. appealing to assistant director or director) she approached co-producer Barrymore instead. They tried to trick Murray with new script pages, when really, it was essentially the same scene previously completed (that Liu wanted re-shot) — Murray saw through the ruse and ridiculed Liu’s acting; almost certainly preying on her acting insecurities <pretty sure that wasn’t the first remark(s) he’d dragged her newb status> and she popped off, physically going after him.

    He was absolutely wrong and should’ve been warned earlier, but she *for sure* overreacted — nevertheless Liu got the desired result, more or less; but only bc Barrymore was co-producing (defended Liu’s on-set assault)

  14. Oh look, one grownup said something another grownup didn’t like. So that grownup said they didn’t like it and stop. But then that grownup drags it publicly two decades later, proving they aren’t actually a grownup. But are really a child who wants everyone on her side. Lucy Lui, whether you protected yourself or not, why TF are you bringing it up now, except to appear “brave” and publicly put him down?

  30. I saw Bill Murray touching and fawning all over Gina Davis on a late night interview decades ago. She was in a position where she couldn’t fight back on a live talk show, or it’d be career ending.

    Bill Murray took advantage of the circumstances, and like the viewing audience, I thought it was a bit. This is why nobody said anything, because this kind of behavior has conditioned my generation, that this was a harmless joke between colleagues in the entertainment industry.
