Why does Greenland interest Trump? Climate change is only part of the story

  1. To keep us from talking about real immediate issues here at home on which Trump ran his campaign, but for which he has no real answers.

  2. Because Putin wants the US to be isolated from its European allies. It is really simple if you look at the Trump-Putin relationship. Putin is leveraging the weaknesses of the US political system to transform the US into an Oligarchy resembling Russia.

  4. No, climate change is the *entire* story, opening up the Northern Sea Route, exposing Arctic Ocean oil and gas fields, revealing Greenland’s minerals as its ice sheet melts.

  9. The “plan” to buy Greenland was cooked up by Putin’s GRU during the first Trump administration to divide NATO and normalize taking land without its citizens’ consent. They faked a letter to white supremacist Sen. Tom Cotton to get the thing going. The Danish intelligence has accused Russia of forging a 2019 letter to Cotton, claiming to be from Greenland’s foreign minister & alleging there’d be an independence referendum.

    Tom Cotton claims to have given Trump the idea to buy Greenland….

  10. Trump just wanted attention. He was jealous of all the headlines Jimmy Carter was getting. Trump doesn’t actually care about Greenland.

    My advice is to just ignore what Trump says and just focus on what he does. It is going to be a long 4yrs.
