  1. The music gives me the shivers. Between Heartbeat and Antiques Roadshow.. I hated Sunday night when I was at school

  2. They STILL play Poirot near daily! And Lovejoy!

I only watch real TV for one week a year, at Centre Parcs, and istg the shows have not changed since I lived at home nearly 2 decades ago.

  3. Lost In Space reruns during feeding time…

Danger, Will Robinson! Brussel Sprouts on your plate! Danger! 😂

  4. Thing is, I loved Heartbeat. Great family TV. Everyone watching it.

  5. The Onedin Line , on a black and white TV while shivering and getting hair forcibly combed in the 70s, knowing i had school in the morning 🙁

  6. South Bank Show.

When that tune came on after Spitting Image, my weekend was officially over.

  7. Oh my god please tell me there are more Octonauts and Chuggington people here

  8. Although not a TV show, the first thing that came to mind was the old Thames Television intro jingle thing before a programme.

Oh wow, I just remembered “That’s Life” with Esther Rantzen. That was on a Sunday night, right? Blast from the past, haha:

  9. My mum always watched a piroit after tea. After that it was get ready time and boy do I not miss the dread

  10. Heartbeat, why does a love kiss stay in my memory?

  11. howards way. the end credits music meant bedtime. no ifs. no buts. turn the zx spectrum off and play starquake another day….

  12. I love that I read the words ski Sunday and the music instantly popped into my head 😂

  13. That’s Life and Last of the Summer Wine.

And funnily enough I live in LOTSW-land now.

  14. Funny thing; since I’ve left the UK, I don’t get catapulted like this as often as I do when I visit or as I did when I was still living there. So thank you for this. This post gave me that. And got the theme of *Heartbeat* stuck in my head.

  15. Wild at heart was mine.

I still have fond (terrifying) memories of having to tell my mam that I needed special supplies for arts and crafts the next day, with all the shops closed.

  16. Hollyoaks theme tune meant I left the TV on after the Simpson’s and I’d rush to change the channel

  17. The **BONG** of itv news at ten – With ME *TrevMcDonald* signified that it was very late- time for bed-although I might have been allowed to watch The Professionals at 10:30.

  18. Antiques Roadshow. My mum ironing a massive pile of clothes. The slow dread that it’s school tomorrow. Thanks for the memories lol 😆

  19. Bergerac, and then some years later, Lovejoy.

I’m basically listing my mum’s crushes.

  20. My mum watched a lot of CSI, so I guess various The Who songs

  21. Minder best song ever by far on any tv program (only fools put aside of course )

  22. heres a question what programme do u watch and change the name of ,
    to make yaself chuckle ??
one of mine the Antique shit show

  23. Always accompanied by the smell of Vosene shampoo, because you’d have to have a good hair wash before going back to school on Monday morning 😂

I’d usually be shitting it because I hadn’t done the homework set a fortnight ago.

I can also still picture and feel them really thick cotton bed sheets (you know UK kids of the 80s and early to mid 90s – the un-elasticated ones with the different coloured stripes on them that were always freezing cold for the first ten minutes of being in bed).

Oh childhood poverty, how I haven’t missed thee! 😂😂😂
