Hey everyone,

I’d really appreciate some advice or insights from anyone with experience in this matter. I’m interested in purchasing an iPhone from someone who claims it is a replacement device provided by Apple under AppleCare+.

The seller sent me the invoice for the replacement, but I’m unsure if it’s legit. The invoice includes some details and addresses. I also asked for additional proof, and the seller sent me photos of the package in which they received the replacement device.

The serial number on the replacement device was provided, and when I checked it on checkcoverage.apple.com, it shows a "Purchase Date: October 2022." I’ve attached a screenshots of this for reference.

Additionally, the seller shared a photo of the old device’s package. (For context, when Apple processes a replacement, they send you the replacement iphone in a cardboard package and also to return the old device in the same package and you keep the old original package, I assume the old SN should still be on it, you can check it on this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i6hzMEa-ZYM) When I checked the serial number of the old device original package, it confirmed that this device had been replaced as shown in the link screenshot.

Here’s my main concern:

The replacement device serial number check shows a "Purchase Date: October 2022" on Apple's coverage checker. However, the invoice for the replacement from Apple—where the seller paid €99 for the replacement—has a date of December 2024.

For translation: Rechnungsdatum & Fälligkeitsdatum, means invoice date and due date.

The invoice includes detailed information like:

Invoice number

Apple order number

Invoice date

Due date

Customer number

Order number

Repair number, etc.

The seller claims that they had issues with two buttons on the device from the very start, but they didn’t have time to exchange it until recently.

Is there any way I can further verify the authenticity of this replacement or ensure everything checks out? I’d really appreciate your help in understanding why the replacement device would show a purchase date from October 2022, while the replacement invoice is dated December 2024.

Thanks in advance for any guidance or tips!
