I misread the headline as “almost two pupils” and had a little giggle to myself
Maybe they should go back if they’re missing it so much.
It’s vitally important we get kids to attend. The fact they don’t learn anything once they’re there doesn’t matter, because that’s intentionally harder to measure. Just get them to attend, then underpaid teachers in damp classrooms, with 40 kids and 30 chairs will somehow magically make them all happy, rich, socially useful, well adjusted geniuses.
The UK is a failed state. All the hallmarks of one are definitely there.
2 years Of school from home and now they are worried about attendance…
I remember as a teen skipping weeks of school with friends to actually enjoy my time. Burn out of coursework and homework being on top of the like 8 hours of being in school 5 days a week. Children need a childhood. Playing and relaxing are important for developing and a healthy mind.
well I mean, if they’re in school they can’t work. If kids can’t work then their family can’t pay rent. If the family can’t pay rent, the landlords don’t get their mortgage paid. And if the mortgage doesn’t get paid, guess who’s not getting their charitable donation this year? that’s right, the Tory party.
