Seems a touch desperate, I also imagine anyone in Russia who might be sympathetic might even see it as a trap by the regime.
Thinking about it, that would be my reaction to a random phone call from someone cold calling calling me up and talking about how bad Iranian, Venezuelan sanctions or the war in Yemen etc
