  2. I mean. “Don’t start a war with a NATO member ” is solid advice, right? Applies to Russia, applies to Israel, it’s kind of the entire point of NATO.

  3. Yeah, the country, that planned and executed decade-long plan of deception, and simultaneous disruption and total decapitation of large militant organization. That country for sure has no idea what are Turkey’s strengths and weaknesses.

  4. For sure Israel has game planned various scenarios of war with Turkey and is ready.

    Which isn’t to say war between Israel and Turkey would be a cake-walk, it’ll be a bloody massacre on both sides, but Israel has definitely considered it and thoroughly planned for it.

    Unlike Hezbollah and Hamas, Turkey is far more compotent, and unlike Iran, it is far closer to Israel.

    Also, I like how in so many articles in the past months, the titles are like “CIA/states department chief warns Israel against doing X” – as if Israel isn’t capable of conducting it’s own war game plans and risk/reward analysis.

  7. Erdogan is all talk no bite, said this over and over again. He preys on the weak not the strong.

    He is not going to attack a strategically important NATO/US ally and the only reason he can pull the ridiculous stunts like hosting Hamas etc is because he knows Turkey won’t get kicked out of NATO due to their own strategic importance.

    But why Turks are allowing this guy to slowly decay their great country baffles me.

    Well, two can play that game. Would wannabe-crusader Pete Hegseth give up the chance to restore Hagia Sophia as a magnificent cathedral (and open the door to a whole bunch of other Christian irredentism related to Asia Minor) just to honor some NATO obligation or other? The Trumpers REALLY care about NATO and they REALLY REALLY care about what some Canada-based washed-up relic from the Carter administration says about what their limits should be.

    And it’s Turkey, not Türkiye. We shouldn’t indulge Erdogan in his rebranding game.
