1. I didn’t vote for Trump. But this is what having a real American President looks like. Groups like Israel and Hamas are afraid of him.

   I’m not fully confident the peace deal will be consummated, though, let alone adhered to with fidelity over the months and years.

2. You mean the thing they agreed to months ago but Netanyahu kept torpedoing because his extremist cabinet members threatened (and are threatening) to collapse his government?

   I mean everyone knows this war has been dragged on for entirely his political benefit.

3. Hamas has been accepting third party ceasefire plans since at least June. The question is if the fascists leading israel will actually accept it, or just pretend to then back out last minute like they did last time.

4. This hope it’s true. Hamas tends to blow up agreements like they did during the last hostage release. They realize that once the fighting is over, they will have to account for destroying Gaza, so the they prefer that the conflict continues.

   This seems like a pretty big deal, given that the 2nd phase is supposed to be the complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. My bet is that phase 1 goes through fine and then phase 2 doesn’t.
