So, why is the eastern part of EU also being targeted? Do they still think we are communist or smth?

I have some hypotheses on who goes in tier 1. It’s either:
– Countries that might retaliate with export restrictions on stuff we actually need (whores don’t count: this is Biden policy, not Trump) or
– Countries where electricity is so expensive they are not going to do AI shit at a competitive scale anyway (any realistic Dutch AI business plan starts with “let’s build a data center in wherever electricity is cheapest”) or
– Countries where the courts will probably block mass production of fully autonomous weapon systems because of human rights and stuff
Portugal is singled out because of the deals with China IIRC

The problem with us is because there are a lot of (now) Chinese owned companies operating in Portugal. And we are talking about strategic companies, not like frying pans factories.

Isn’t this completely irrelevant? With the common market a chip can arrive in germany and then be shiped to poland with a truck. There is no customs.
