Kytsivka Desert is a sandy, hilly area between a pine forest and the floodplains of the Siverskyi Donets river. Located near the village of Kytsivka, an hour’s drive from Kharkiv, it is a rare natural phenomenon for both the Slobozhanshchyna region and Ukraine as a whole. In Soviet times, it was used as a training ground for tanks.
