The presenters

Frances Edmonds, Head of Sustainability at HP Canada since November of 2015, has been a print industry pioneer when it comes to successfully driving business value from sustainability investments and initiatives, setting strategies, and identifying and implementing new and emerging opportunities. First hired in 1999 as an environmental health and safety manager, her role expanded as she and her team began putting some of Canada’s earliest Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) programs in place. Among her many accomplishments, she helped form Electronics Product Stewardship Canada, a not-for-profit industry-led association that still works with the provinces to implement electronics waste-management regulations.

Consultant Mike Millard’s multi-talented 38-year career in the printing industry has seen him manage key roles in many successful Canadian companies – including that of a Sustainable Team Leader, Health & Safety Manager/Trainer, and Director of Prepress Services from 2008-2022 at the Ellis Group (Pickering, ON), as well as General Manager at Ellis Imaging (Mississauga, ON) from 2005-2008. Most recently, he worked from 2022-2024 at MAX Solutions Canada (Pickering, ON) as Director of Prepress Services and as a Health & Safety Manager/Trainer. Before that he held supervisory prepress positions at Transcontinental (Rexdale, ON) and Yorkville Printing (Scarborough, ON).
