  1. > “To some, Michaels will bark, ‘Don’t fuck it up,’” Morrison continues. “Bill Hader, who is prone to anxiety attacks, remembers Michaels coming to his dressing room when he hosted and snapping, ‘Calm the fuck down. Just have fun. Jesus Christ.’ With others, he is warmer. Molly Shannon treasures the memory of how, when she was nervous just before going onstage, Michaels would ‘reassure me with his eyes.’”

  2. Is there any particular reason there’s like 30 different actors coming out to say how brutal SNL is at the moment?

  3. Got to love that ’80s tough guy advice suck it up you pussy

  4. I don’t think Lorne Michaels has ever killed anyone, but that’s only because he’s never had to.

  5. I suffer from panic attacks and the one thing that never works is someone telling me to just calm the fuck down. Lol like we want to go through that shit on purpose. If you’ve never had a panic attack it’s hard to understand. I wouldn’t wish them on my worst enemy.

  6. As with all of us with anxiety, being told to “calm the f- down” doesn’t really help.

  7. Yeh Lorne, that works great on folks experiencing anxiety disorder.

  8. Lorne created an insanely competitive environment over there

  9. That’s like telling someone with depression to just try being happier.

  10. I’m going to say this to myself, every time I have a panic attack.

  11. I don’t blame him. Lots of actors hate taking extreme risks by a skit flopping live.

  12. Damn, people who have anxiety and panic attacks would never think to calm down…

  13. Wow! That is some helpful advice. He should have been a therapist.

  14. I mean it was kind of obvious to me with his manic laughing
