  1. That’s the whole point of it, how is anyone meant to make a killing out of it if it’s within budget

  2. We built the first commercial nuclear power plant in 3 years which produced power for nearly 50 years. 70 years later and this is 14 years behind schedule at best. Why is everything so shit.

  3. Good value for money, given its lifetime of generating considerable amounts of energy without worrying about the wind or the sun

  4. Ye but nuclear is so much better than renewables amirite

(No. Nuclear goes massively over budget every single time and renewables are constantly getting better + cheaper.)

  5. 1950s : wow that’s cool, how can I make it bigger, better, faster

2020s: wow that’s cool, how can I rinse the entire building project for an endless budget and endless build time that goes towards overpaid managers and ministers, until the reactor is so overdue that other energy sources are 10x cheaper and efficient.

  6. You can bet your bottom dollar some cun£ is getting fat off this, that’s why it’s costing more!

  7. Also, the French are building an almost exact copy of it for £16 Billion.
