My closest petrol station ran out for an evening but the one a mile away had petrol in. The major shopping hardship I have found is that I couldn’t buy a McDonald’s milkshake for a couple of weeks, even that shit has been sorted out.

It can’t that bad UK has higher GDP than France, last time France was ahead was back in 2017.
Real GDP in the U.K. is forecast by the OECD to reach prepandemic levels before France, although there’s only a 1-3months between them, and both by the end of this year or by end of Q1 2022.
I’ve no doubt Brexit will cause harsher economic headwinds for the U.K. more so than for France and the rest of continent, but if we’re both recovering from COVID, which hurt the British economy slightly more, then why is France’s recovery slower, or at best neck and neck with ours? It seems this French politician should be looking to help his home economy rather than then focusing on his neighbours.
