  1. Get an electrician to do it. Most likely also stated in your rental contract that you have to have professional handymen do work like that.

  2. You can connect lights yourself in your own living quarters, as that doesn’t constitute changes to the electrical house installation, however, consult a professional if you are unsure.

    IMPORTANT:

do NOT connect ANY AC power to that clamp (the power from the outlets and house installation is 230V 50Hz AC, Alternating Current)! If you look to the left, on the transformer (the white block) you see it designating the pinout as + and – for the connector underneath the screwed on cover. The cables go into the clamp you’re holding, meaning this is the DC low voltage side of the transformer that feeds the LED lightsource. If you check on the other end of the transformer, there should be the AC side clamps, likely under another cover.

(This is just an explanation, use the manual of the lamp and consult an electrician if you are the tiniest bit unsure)

The AC connector should be labelled with L for line (Phase), which is usually brown on the house side, but NEVER blue or yellow/green.

The other connector should be labelled N for neutral, which is blue on the house side.

You will maybe also see a PE (Protected Earth) connector or a blank screw on the metal housing. That’s where the yellow/green one goes.

Again: consult the manual, if you are unsure, get a professional.

  3. How about you write some info? What seems to be your problem?

On most lamps it doesn’t matter in which direction the power flows.

Black should always be used for “live”, but your cables look weird.

  4. You are Holding power output. You need to conect power to the white transformer.

  5. If you don’t know what you’re doing get an electrician
