  7. Is not having a Twitter (X) account , or FB, for that matter, such a big personal ‘loss’ ?

    Every major info, even the less important info, gets circumvented to smithereens either way, so you eventually find out about everything that goes on in there without having an account.

  10. Norway’s police used Twitter to great effect for a long time, but left as soon as Elon started to wreck the platform. I’m hoping there will be a stigma attached to being an active user on X.

    People that dont know better unfortunately and they want to reach them too. But sure as European we should boycot X and Teslas as well. Thats the least thing we could do to say thanks.

    That is, if not Musk is smart enough to realice he is not very liked in Europe. Actually the oppsite. And that Donald Trump is more dissliked in the EU then he is in any other continents in the world, which polls has shown repetedly. He would know with his X that things are like that ofcource.

    Then maybe his support of the far right fringe in the EU and UK, could be a calculated act to counter Russias atempts to futher those in Europe. I mean he does it openly and he knows he is dissliked. Sure if he is smart he would know his support will have a reversed effect.

  14. A lot of Germany currently deletes X. Universities, football clubs, quite a lot and theyre mostly joining Bluesky instead.

    That said, as a German myself and correct me if im wrong but I always had the impression that Germans were never that big into Twitter in the first place. Ive never used it much and i dont know anybody of my friends who actively use Twitter which obviously makes it all the easier to leave the platform as it’s not much of a loss.

  19. You can downvote me to hell, but you leftists can’t handle objective reality. Here’s what years of your leftist politics have earned you:

    1. 50% less GDP growth than the USA in the past ~10 years
    2. Closure of its nuclear plants, then having to buying energy from Russia
    3. Germans experienced higher than necessary inflation as a direct result of higher energy prices
    4. Mass immigration of illegal immigrants resulting in increased crime
    5. Poorer economy has resulted in lower native birth rates, but higher number of illegal immigrant births
    6. Germany’s excessive bureaucracy is negatively affecting its world renown auto industry.
    7. Germany has slowed down investment in its infrastructure which is starting to see issues creeping in.
    8. Due to high taxation, skilled labour is less available, and no the illegal immigrants aren’t doctors & engineers.
    9. Young generation has turned to wokism, protesting climate change (it’s real, but mostly not caused by humans or CO2), protesting against nuclear energy and oil, and going on about nonseniscal gender pay gaps and under representation of women in leadership roles

    Elon is pretty much against all of this and he’s right, and no he’s not a facist, and X is pretty great actually, much better than censored twitter. Even facebook is coming around to admitting they were sensoring all kinds of speech and professionals in the past few years. You celebrate a couple of groups leaving X, but they won’t be missed and eventually they will be back. 99% of the other groups are still on there… will you admit to that at least?

    But relax, you still have reddit here, which seems like an echo-chamber of idiologic leftists who have no clue how the real world actually works.

  24. X do not have such big market share in the EU. Only 4% uses it, while in the US 12%. This ofcource varies greatly by country and more people in the Nordic uses it than any other countries in the EU (could have missed some country). Then again they use the internet more alltogheter then the rest. The Nordic countries are those that uses both internet and Social media the most in the world with one or two other countries in addition. X has lost market shares in the EU the last years and even more now the last months. Not maybe actuall users though to more and more using social media altogheter with change of population (old people die, new peopöe grow up that is). So no, X will not be the future overall.
