Israel and Hamas reach a Gaza ceasefire agreement

1. Almost two hundred murderers (out of more hundreds) with life sentence going to be exchanged.

   This objectively is a bad deal but in the real world that is going on right now there is no bad deal and HALLELUJAH. I’ve prayed for this day and this day has come. I hope this leads to the clowns (ben gvir alla smothrich) to actually go with their words and bring down the coalition, sending us to elections.

   We deserve much better leaders.

2. This deal leaves a whole lot of unanswered questions…. most pointedly that it doesn’t address who will rule Gaza after the exchange and withdrawal. That said, hopefully it will be a stepping stone. For now, any break in the fighting is a good thing for the people of Gaza, suffering amidst the rubble in the winter cold. For one moment, let us praise peace and hope it builds a better future.

3. Here’s hoping that Hamas doesn’t violate it quickly, like they’ve done the last time there was a ceasefire. Otherwise, the worst voices will only get more confirmation of their beliefs.

4. Hope Israel doesn’t immediately implode this deal.It just shows you how evil and repulsive of a man Biden is. he could’ve stopped it a year ago. The only real principled stance that man took was the genocide of Palestinians, may he rest in hell shortly

5. A lot of Israelis seem upset about this, and to them I say: This was the only possible outcome. An insurgency can’t be defeated with bombs, and all that prolonging the war has accomplished is wasted lives, time, and money.

6. Yay! Hopefully Israel doesn’t violate it. Israel violated the November ceasefire over 100 times in its first week. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if this happens with this ceasefire.

7. The leftists were right all along. Biden was a weak, useless old man who couldn’t stand up to Israel and get them to stop. History will remember him as a lame duck evil president

8. What surprises me about this deal is that I expected Israel to hold off on any big moves until Trump was in office so he could win himself some pro Israeli points with his voters. But the ceasefire comes in the final days of Bidens administration.

9. It appears that applying pressure on Israel can indeed lead to an agreement. While this deal may not be ideal, it surpasses the efforts made by Biden over the past year. One can hope that this will put an end to the tragic loss of civilian lives, though I remain skeptical.

10. Weird how a ‘genocide’ ends just like that when Israel accomplishes openly stated war goals.

    No doubt food for thought at the ICJ, further ‘expansion of interpretation’ requests being hastily drafted as we speak lmao

11. I didn’t vote for Trump. But this is what having a real American President looks like. Groups like Israel and Hamas are afraid of him.

    I’m not fully confident the peace deal will be consummated, though, let alone adhered to with fidelity over the months and years.
