  1. It’s an interesting issue, they used to be polished with chromium but it’s been banned as it is toxic and they supposedly haven’t found a better or equal alternative. A bit like how lead paint ability to cover the paint below it is unmatched by anything currently… Anyhow, Pierre your scientists suck.

  2. That might actually be the problem has the Eiffel tower uses some kind of old junk iron we used back in the days.

Algerians love to pretend it’s from their country for whatever reason

  3. Good to see they made their medals with the same care they make their cars.

  4. No, I think they were made from “trash” in the form of precious metals found in electronics. Quite a bit of gold to be found in dead smartphones e.g.

  5. Only the hexagonal centre but was from the Eiffel Tower. The rest is just regular metal (though the gold medals aren’t solid gold, they’re silver with gold plating)

  6. All these controversies are the reason why I don’t participate in the Olympics

  7. I’m guessing they’re vermeil or gold plated. Stuff like that wears down easily if you’re touching it all the time

  8. They should have dipped them in the seine as chemical treatment.

  9. Paris Olympics keep on giving, what would baron Coubertin think of you Pierre

  10. Pierre, what have you done?

  11. is this the picture were some liar claimed the gold medal was rusting and providing a picture of a bronze medal as proof?

  12. They wanted French quality, they got it. What are they complaining about?

  13. Bruh the shitty brass medals I got in my local football club when I was 12 years old have held up better than this
