Excise duty on petrol to be cut by 20c and on diesel by 15c to ease burden of rising energy costs

  1. Why is diesel still higher than petrol? How has this ever actually happened? Petrol was always higher to help promote people not buying high powered cars over emissions.

  2. Will barely make a dent realistically. It’s going up a few cent every day or two, and a lot of stations will have reduced their margins with the price so high. They’ll take this chance to take some of that back, probably see closer to a 7-10 cent per litre reduction really.
