I’m sure North Korea will be all too happy to make another shipment of “meat”.
I’m sure this is true, but i’m also sure it doesnt really matter. Ukraine has a massive area to defend, so needs more troops. IE, I doubt Belarus enters the war at this point, but Ukraine still needs to defend that border. Russia doesnt need to waste troops there..
Also, thats the entire Ukrainian Military, which presumably includes support troops (Logistics, Maintenance, etc). Russia has that as well, but a lot of it is going to be inside of Russia itself.
I’m glad Ukraine got its troop numbers up, that was certainly a requirement to continue to fight, but they certainly are still at a massive numerical disadvantage.
Не надо так говорить, вдруг пыня услышит
This is only counting Russian troops IN Ukraine, the entire Russian army is still larger than Ukraine’s.
If only underground?
This announcement comes at a time when the Americans are arguing Ukraine should also mobilize 18 to 25 year old men.
A very good counter narrative. It sets them up to say “we have the manpower, just give us the further weapons we need to finish the job”.
As the defenders that’s an untenable position for poot poot. Kyiv will stand, history is on their side.
Misleading title:
Each army has front line troops and support/logistics troops, with ratio approximately 1 to 3. Thus UA likely has 220K front line troops total. Divide by about half for rotations/refit/rest and guarding Belorussian border and we are left with ~110K doing the actual fighting per any given time.
Meanwhile for Russia, majority of RU troops on UA territory are likely combat roles, since support and resting troops are on Russian territory and are not included in this number.
These are all rough estimations, but should provide a better picture than the title.
Didn’t they just open an investigation into a battalion fleeing the battle field? What happened to the reports of the shortage of man power? This guy is a whole liar
How important are troop numbers compared to say drone operators etc.
