Serbian Protester ran over by a car. This is a daily occurrence since the Serbian people have started protesting against the government due to death of 15 people in Novi Sad canopy tragedy. The European leaders are still – silent.

  1. “…Someone jumped onto his car’s hood because he wanted to pass through. And they’re saying: “We should arrest the man who was driving the car.” How do you arrest a man who hasn’t broken a law? The man was just on his way.”

    – Aleksandar Vučić, president of Serbia, about a month or two ago in response to a similar incident

He publicly gave them the green light. Well, the official one. The unofficial one was given the moment the protests began basically.

  2. this hurts to watch as a part of the serbian diaspora. so much anger is within us now. i feel it here within the diaspora in ljubljana, and i felt it back in my hometown of novi sad.

they’ll pay for their crimes soon.

  3. oh,,the people in the original post have already found him and his place of living…lololol

  4. >The European leaders are still – silent.

I am so sick of this narrative. Serbia is not part of the EU and clearly a significant part of its population wants to keep it that way. Sort your problems out first, instead of shifting responsibility onto others. Contrary to a popular narrative, EU/west doesn’t puppeteer everything that happens in other countries.

**Edit:** Stay mad; the sooner you stop peddling lithium conspiracy theories and turn your anger at Vucic’s government, and more specifically, your fellow countrymen who keep voting for these corrupt assholes, the better.

  5. Protestors know this will keep happening and most should expect it. These are pro Vucic (he’s the semi-dictator) drivers who assume they won’t get charged for it. They don’t even hide their number plates as they feel that protected by the regime. We’ll see if they go to prison or not. If they start improsoning them I think this will stop. But without EU pressure nothing will happen because Vucic abhorres the protestors.

  6. Sounds like an internal Serbian problem so it would not be appropriate for them to say anything

  7. The car window is clearly broken already, so what was happening before this?

  8. People are getting tired of the protesters. Many people can’t work, can’t go to school… Because the protesters want to oust a democratically elected representative who’s term ends in 2-3 years.

I am not saying Vucic is good/bad and this driver seems like an asshole, but this is the reason people are geting angry.

  9. Tribalism within the same country is the dumbest fucking thing ever.

  10. Wtf Serbia? There are no more men in the Balkan? Are you all Putin slaves?

  11. I hope all criminals who broke car window will be arrested.

  12. Serbia has over the last 30 years made it very clear that they have no interest in the EU.

The people of Serbia prefer to be under the paw of Russians.

I wonder what Putin’s point of view about demonstrations for democracy is…

I am supporting everyone who is protesting in Serbia. I am sure that it can’t be easy and you show more resilience than I have.

However its been decades that the Serbian government is antagonizing the EU and it seems the citizens just gobble that up

  13. Why would European leaders care about a country that supports Russia?

  14. maybe protest outside officials offices instead of in the middle of the road. i recently found out roads have cars on them with people who need to go places, crazy i know, but i feel like we shouldnt stand in the their way when they are in big metal machines that could kill us. just an idea though.

  15. Ufff, the still at the end that shows everything you need to know, is gold.

  16. Balkan rumble as usual, you guys can’t love each other for 6 month straight without therapy are you surprised central Europe waits a bit until it’s clear what’s going on ? Collapsing rail stations ain’t exactly a reason to overthrow a government but can be the excuse to start a rebellion that was prepared by an outsider.

  17. He is arrested and accused that try to kill her.
    Justiceeeee we want

  18. What putin has to do with students demonstrating agains coruption in Serbia
    Are you stupid ?!?
Cammon eu it is not all about Rusia
We are Serbs fighting for the law

  19. Fascism! The ruling party and president Vucic, are the pure evil. They are ruling with money and fear, but this is the begining of their end. Europe, please support this if you can, we need a little bit more attention in news and on social networks. Serbian people are starting to unite (thanks to the students and professors from almost all universities in Serbia), and this is some positive think, showing that we are fearless now, but everyday they do something like this..with cars, or just randomly startinh a fight with people on the street. I believe that this is the end of dictator Vucic, but still if you can, just spread the word or video, just people to know. Serbia is a good country, and there are a lot of normal, smart and beautifull people, we just have to get rid of this stupid fascists (something similar to Italians and their period between 1930-1945), unfortunately, we are in the dark place right now, but I see the light!

  20. The European Leaders (a good number of them) are not silent, they are openly supporting dictatorship in our country because of their colonial interests.

  21. This driver deserves nothing but a jail cell. You cannot justify this disgusting act if you are an adequate person.

  22. A protest does not have to violate the traffic rules.

  23. I feel you bro, but remember, this is echo chamber for us Serbs and these ppl here only listen to EU media, whose coverage about this is exactly zero.

Wonder why? Thank our Leader, for selling mines, and same people here, who see no evil in exploiting big corpos, although on paper they talk about (their) green energy and whatnot.

I’m tired of absence of EU support yet condemnation whenever our Leader does schizoid dictator move on behalf of his will, and not of Serbian citizen’s will. Although I’m not so sure about it anymore…He has a huge support here…
