Eblansh Band have withdrawn from Moldova’s selection for the Eurovision Song Contest 2025.
Moldovan broadcaster TRM has confirmed that Eblansh Band, who were due to participate in the auditions stage of Etapa Națională 2025 this weekend, have withdrawn from the competition. One of the band members is currently hospitalised in Romania, meaning that they are not able to attend the auditions in Moldova. The band were due to perform their song “O, Moldova mea dragă!” (Oh, my dear Moldova!)”.
Twenty-eight artists will participate in the auditions round this Saturday, they are:

For the first time since 2019, a previous Moldovan Eurovision representative will not represent Moldova.
The live auditions stage is set to take place on January 18 in TRM’s studio no. 2. After the live auditions, a jury will select ten acts to proceed to the live final stage, scheduled on February 22. In the final of Selecția Națională 2025, the winner will be determined by 50% televoting and 50% jury voting.
Natalia Barbu performed “In The Middle” in Semi-Final One of the Eurovision Song Contest 2024. Moldova placed 13th in the Semi-Final scoring 20 points.

Moldova debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2005 when the contest was held in Kyiv, Ukraine. Moldova’s best result in the contest is 3rd place in 2017 for Sunstroke Project with “Hey Mamma!”. This was the second time the group had represented their country in Eurovision. Moldova has been represented by several artists who have competed in the contest before, with five acts having represented Moldova a combined eleven times.
