Arkansas Gov. Sarah Sanders is scheduled to speak at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, next week, according to the event’s agenda.
On Wednesday, Sanders will be among three speakers in a session titled “Collapsing Youth?” Speakers will focus on rising levels of stress, anxiety and suicidality among adolescents. The other speakers are Jonathan Haidt, a professor of ethical leadership at the Stern School of Business at New York University, and Nita Farahany, a professor of law and philosophy at Duke University.
Sanders has advocated for restricting students’ cellphone use in school, and said in her state of the state address earlier this week that banning phones in the classroom is a legislative priority.
On Thursday, Sanders will speak on a panel called “Conversations with US Governors” alongside Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear. Sanders is a Republican who was a press secretary for President Donald Trump. Beshear is a Democrat who was rumored as a potential 2024 running mate for Vice President Kamala Harris.
Sanders’ office, Beshear’s office and the World Economic Forum’s media contact did not immediately respond to questions.
The annual World Economic Forum brings political, business and academic leaders to the Swiss canton of Graubünden. High in the Alps, Davos is a tony outdoor sports mecca, with plenty of downhill skiing, cross country skiing and other winter sports to keep the first gentleman occupied.
