I like the idea of making America great again but I don’t think kicking sand in the face of countries like Canada, Denmark and Panama will do the trick. I’d much rather we figure out how to minimize the consequences of Russia’s return to greatness under Vladimir Putin and China’s efforts to restore its historical position as the world’s economic power house.

We will probably never again see that brief moment after World War II when we were the only nation to possess an atomic bomb and the means to deliver it any place in the world. While we are working to avoid nuclear confrontations we we can work to raise the standard of living and economic security of all Americans. I hope we can at least match those countries ahead of us when it comes to making all votes cast as equal as possible in all elections and providing help to those who need it without cutting too much into the handsome taxation exemptions usually enjoyed by our top 5%.

A lot of nations have experienced relatively long periods of greatness and some even a return to greatness. Let’s find a way of improving the lives of all Americans while we are at it. Maybe even a program to provide health insurance to all Americans similar to that of a congressman.

I know President Donald Trump has said he has vey good people working on health care. I’m sure former President Barack Obama would be happy to be upstaged.
