Czech minister of defense Jana Černochová: If the UN is unable to act, it should dissolve

  1. >Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has handed over to the Czech government another list of military material that his country needs in the fight against Russia.

    >The Czech Republic will provide Ukraine with additional military material, Minister of Defense Jana Černochová (ODS) said today on the Czech television program Otázky Václava Moravec.

    >So far, the state has provided weapons for CZK 725 million, and further planned deliveries will be for a similar amount. For security reasons, she did not say what the material would be, but it will be based on a list requested by the Ukrainian government.

    >The Minister also relied heavily on the UN process. According to her, the organization should ensure monitoring of human rights in Ukraine as well as humanitarian aid. In some Ukrainian cities, the humanitarian situation is catastrophic.

    >”If the United Nations is unable to get blue helmets ( UN peacekeepers ) to Ukraine and ensure at least basic respect for human rights, let them dissolve,” the minister said.

  2. The UN dissolving doesn’t help any of us. It was never intended to be sufficient in solving problems between more powerful nations. If it was not intended, it is hardly surprising that it now fails to do that. Rather, if the world is unable to come together, it is not the fault of the UN, but of the world.

  3. This is just a dumb statement.

Also I hate to do whataboutism but some Arab countries must be laughing real hard hearing this type of shit.

  4. Expecting the UN to solve these kinds of situations without giving them the means and mandate to is just intellectually lazy.
