Noyja opzich. Met de boot naar engeland vanuit utrecht is wel chill. Niet zover meer hoeven rijden is goed voor t milieu.

Kijk, de truc is om de waterwerken dus _niet_ weg te halen zegmaar.
Deze kaartjes zijn onzinnig voor de Nederlandse situatie; want het enige wat het doet is stukjes land met een bepaalde hoogte blauw kleuren. Dus: elevation < sea level = blue. Maker van de kaart heeft voor Nederland wel een aanpassing gedaan, maar zodra je 2 meter zeeniveau aanklikt zet je een groot deel onder water wat in de praktijk gewoon droog zal zijn.

Daarnaast heeft de kaart nog meer beperkingen. Zoals dat het geen rekening houdt met flood defences (wat OP hier wel benoemd, maar op MapPorn niemand.)

I’ve got no way of knowing whether current defences (in Holland, say) are able to withstand an extra +1 metre of mean sea level. I think the Netherlands is probably the best prepared country for rising sea levels. They’ve been playing this game for centuries.
amsterdam ligt alleen maar droog volgens dit kaartje omdat er zoveel bebouwing is, alleen west en centrum ligt boven NAP maar zeker geen meter
Breda aan Zee klinkt ook best wel prima.

If you simply remove the waterworks, it would be nearly the same. The water bodies visible on old maps are large lakes and rivers seen at this scale. It’s not just the sea that’s contained; there are also several massive freshwater rivers flowing from Europe into the Netherlands. These rivers were once spread out through numerous smaller streams and vast swamp lands. Without the waterworks, 80% of the country would be swampy, stretching into Germany, with many towns and cities only accessible by small boats navigating through expansive, tall grass-filled swamp lakes. Without the Dutch waterworks, the sea would be the least of our concerns.

Would be more worried about poorer regions who don’t have a high tech Delta Werken to protect against water. Places like Bangladesh or New Orleans.
Gaat niet gebeuren. En dan nog zou ik hier in het verre oosten wel goed zitten. Zou wel lekker zijn als nog eerst even een huis kan kopen, zal de woningwaarde goed doen.

En anders moet gewoon de [Deltawet](https://wetten.overheid.nl/BWBR0030836/2024-01-01) veranderen. Je kunt rekenkundig een andere meetmethode gebruiken om de hoogte van de zeespiegel vast te stellen en als het moet passen we het meetkundig systeem aan. De BBB weet precies wat er te doen is. Allemaal paniek om niks.
