The UK seems to have a general culture problem with this sort of thing, I’m constantly reading about men getting into fisticuffs during a night out and someone either getting stabbed or beaten. I have a colleague who claims for instance that real men beat up people who insult them. It’s a sign of a cultural issue.

+1 on the sentence being way too low. he will probably serve 18 months, and frankly, this is not a deterrent. Prison sentences for violent crimes are too low in general imo.

29 months, a third off for remission and a third off for good behaviour. He’ll be out in less than a year, probably get a free Council house, set up with a good job, have probation officer and an army of social workers ready to help him. We live in strange times, where if you give an innocent person a good thumping for no reason at all, you actually gain from it.
How the fuck have a quarter of the posts in this thread degenerated into posters saying how shit Britian is when it comes to alcohol.
Is there any subject on here that can’t be turned into.a hate fest on your own country?
