Hey all, this is a new Irish podcast that just launched, it’s all about making, crafting and building things in Ireland. If you are in any way interested check it out and share!

I think the maker movement is hugely important and massively underrepresented in Ireland, especially considering we are such a crafty and creative bunch. I’ve also been seeing a lot of questions recently about non drinking hobbies or ways to meet people when you aren’t into more traditional Irish pass times, making stuff is a great way to do both.

Hopefully people get something from this, they have two episodes out so far, one about cosplay and another with professional prop makers and there is loss more to come!

  1. Great idea. There are loads of talented creatives here but the maker culture hasn’t caught on fully, has it?

  2. Excellent, we already listen to a couple from international makers, will be nice to put on something from here at home.

  3. Looking forward to listening to it.

Must admit that we tried setting up a maker space in our corner of the country over 10 years ago!

Great first get-together meeting with over 10 people, we went off to price renting a room/space and find out about insurance etc.
The prices came back and were beyond what anyone was comfortable paying into each month. We even looked at trying to do it in a couple of the participants own garages etc. But it died a death in trying to finally secure. It went nowhere in the end.

Areas are crying out for this! I hope this finds its feet and well done to those involved.
