The search has begun for Natalia Barbu’s successor and Moldova’s Eurovision 2025 representative. Saturday’s live auditions of Etapa Naţională 2025 was  the first step in this journey.

On January 14, TRM, Moldova’s national broadcaster, announced the longlist of of 30 entries that would be participating in the live auditions of Etapa Naţională 2025. However, Eblansh Band withdrew due to one of its members currently being hospitalised. Three other acts also failed to show at the auditions, leaving just 26 entries to take the stage.

There are no artists in the selection who have formerly represented Moldova at Eurovision, which means the country will be sending a new artist to the contest for the first time in four years.

The 12 highest-scoring acts made it through the live auditions and will compete again in the final of Etapa Naţională 2025 next month.
