Anyone tried this newish product from Lidl? It’s the business, no more waiting days for avocado’s to ripen and its very spreadable on bread. And a bargain at 99c

  1. They give you a layer as thin as paper just make your own it’s cheaper and tastier

  2. Yes unreal I’ve been using it with my eggs every morning. They’re doing it in Aldi now too it’s great

  3. The one with chili is nicer IMO. Fairly fucking delicious as a dip for tortilla chips too 👌

  4. I tried a Lidl but I ended up getting Aldi avocado on my shirt

  5. Aldi one is better. A proper lid on it, bigger tub and I find that lidl one goes brown fairly quicly after opening, whereas aldi one lasts a few days

  6. This stuff’s the business to dip those cheap tesco doritos into, talk about new year’s resolutions going out the window week two of 2025

  7. Just looked up the ingredients. Just avocado, lime, and salt. I’m definitely buying this! Thanks for the tip

  8. Feck that. I married a latina and if I brought that home I’d be sacked.

  9. Avocado is so 2016. Have they not moved on to the latest notion

  10. Has anyone tried guacamole? Yeah I’d say so. They’ve another new product in there too, it was called pizza if I remember correctly. You should definitely try it out!

  11. Not going to lie, I got the Garlic Butter from ALDI… game changer for a cheeky toasted sandwich and for a knob of butter in the mashed Spuds… size isn’t great, but I’m forever not putting enough garlic in or melting the butter too much for my own spread…

  12. Yes, its lovely and Aldi do a version too, very tasty and a lot cheaper than some I’ve seen or fresh advocados.

Aldi one is basically avocado (98%) with a bit of lime and salt added so not too processed.

  13. Had it this morning, absolutely delicious. It’s about to become a regular weekend breakfast for me.

  14. I’ve seen it, but I never tried it. I’m going to pick it up next time I’m in. Thanks for the recommendation.

  15. “no more waiting days for avocados to ripen”.. I think this specific problem is solved by buying one of the ripe avocados in the next aisle.

  16. Sometimes I’ll just buy one of these and a bag of those 90c salted nachos and just go to town on them in one sitting and then puke it all up

  17. Oh I was getting this in Tesco but they put up the price and reduced the volume so I stopped buying it. Love it with some poached eggs. I’ll defo be buying this instead! Thanks!

  18. It’s delicious but it starts turning brown very quickly after opening.

  19. Aldi have a similar version. So handy for my morning eggs on toast.

  20. Theyve had this for 2 years minimum. Only downside is the moment you open it, the next day it will be brown, its a one and done

  21. The lime is a little overpowering, but it’s not bad.

At the very least it was processed when the avocados were ripe, so it has a bit more avocado texture and flavor than you will often get from the sad underripe-overripe imports that never got a chance to develop flavor.

  22. It’s good, but you have to use the whole thing in one go. It turns brown if you don’t use it within a day of opening.
There’s another one they do that has chilli flakes in it too 😋
