After 15 months, the Israeli hostages are being let go, all this fighting for what? 😧

2. Your question is a little ambiguous but I assume you are asking why did Hamas want to fight a war. Israel is fighting after an attack on its people.

   Its clear that Hamas politically had a goal of destroying Israel.

3. For one thing, Hamas would never have let them go without the massive military pressure. Their demands went from hundreds of jailed terrorists per hostage to 30. They also went from demanding a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza to no immediate Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. So between the change in demands, the additional living and dead hostages recovered. The massive intelligence recovered, the continued decimation of Hamas’s leadership, and the continued destruction of their infrastructure and weapons storage. I’d say it was a very successful fight. Rocket barrages from Gaza used to be daily; what are they now? What are they even capable of?

4. Iran hoped to permanently disrupt Israel/Saudi normalization by reigniting war between Palestine and Israel.

   Iran’s proxies fell to Israel and normalization talks are back on with Iran in a weaker position.

5. Israel decimated Hamas and in all likelihood the PA will take over control of Gaza after some time. The cease fire is a temporary prisoner exchange and chance for humanitarian aid to move in. By the time it is over Trump will be in power and Israel will be free to finish the fight or choose to negotiate a real peace agreement.

7. Thanks everyone for the comments, i’m not very knowledgeable about this stuff and wanted to hear other thoughts. It breaks my heart that innocent bystanders had to go through all of this stuff for over a year, because the HAMAS and Israel had an agreement.
