The third episode of the Latvian preview show for Supernova 2025 has been released by LTV.
‘Supernova: Izaicinājums’ (Supernova: Challenge) brings viewers closer to the artists hoping to represent Latvia at the 69th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. The show brings the artists out of their comfort zones through interviews but also a series of challenges and games.

A new episode will be released every Thursday in January with televised broadcasts on LTV1 to take place in February.
Supernova 2025 will consist of a semi-final and a final. The semi-final will be held on February 1, where a jury and public voting will choose the participants to advance to the final. The final will take place on February 8. The same voting system will be used to select the Latvian entry for Eurovision 2025 in Basel.
The Supernova 2025 participants are:
Dons represented Latvia at Eurovision 2024 with “Hollow” and brought Latvia to the Grand Final for the first time in 8 years. Dons placed 16th in the Grand Final, scoring a total of 64 points.

Latvia debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2000, being the last of the Baltic nations to join the contest. On their debut, Brainstorm finished in 3rd place with the song “My Star”. Latvia won the contest for the first time in 2002, with Marie N’s “I Wanna”. Latvia only participated in 2002 thanks to the withdrawal of Portugal from the contest, as Latvia’s poor result in 2001 had relegated them from the 2002 contest. Latvia struggled in the contest after 2002, failing to qualify for the final for six years in a row between 2009 and 2014. After a non-qualification streak that lasted 7 years, Latvia eventually qualified in 2024 with Dons and “Hollow”.
