[Gavin Reilly] NEW diplomatic row: the Russian Embassy in Dublin says the truck which rammed its gate today did so “in the presence of Garda officers, who stood idle” – and accuses Ireland of breaching the Vienna Convention by not protecting the premises from any damage.

  1. If it wasn’t for such outrageous and condemable behaviour that brought it on, an embassy getting its gates breached like this would be a huge international incident. There’s too much on that it may slide in this case.

I understand the embassy staff had already left the premises at this point?

  2. While I agree either all the “fuck them” posts, we do have a legal obligation to protect embassies and it puts Irish diplomats at risk by not adhering to well established rules regarding the protection of other countries diplomats.

  3. “Sir, the Russian ambassador is on the phone. He’s very angry. He says Ireland has breached the Vienna convention. What will I tell him?”

    “Tell him to feck off”.

  4. Bunch of whiny soft little bitches. A truck crashes their gates, boo fucking *hoo*. They drive a shitload of armoured vehicles and nearly a 100,000 troops into Ukraine and shell and bomb the daylights out of the place, killing fuck knows how many people, but can’t hack a little (well fucking deserved) vandalism. Cunts. Fuck their diplomatic immunity…

I am fucking raging, in case nobody has guessed.

EDIT; But first call our embassy staff home, to circumvent retribution, of course.

  5. Have dealt with some of Russian embassy staff. Absolute crowd of entitled wankers in there.
The fact that they have their knickers in that much of a twist brings me great joy

  6. Fuck the Russians and the embassy, I just saw that video of the family getting wiped out by shelling. It’s a fucking gate you cunts, your country is committing war crimes.

  7. Ah this is stupid tbh. If you give a fuck about Ukraine then go over and fight or donate money to the red Cross. This venture signalling shite is only a negative for Ireland.

  8. Not sure we should be celebrating this type of thing. Our own embassies are where our own people seek refuge overseas when things go desperately wrong. Whats to say that some fuckwit dictator overseas doesn’t use this as an excuse to do the same to us? Embassies should be sacred for very good reason. A lot of Irish people in the past have relied on the fact that embassies are internationally recognised as inviolate. Even the Brits didn’t dare interfere with Assange in the Ecador embassy for that reason. And we’re just standing by and laughing at this? Let’s not thrown the baby out with the bathwater.
