This is a map of every flight offered from Larnaca. When will we see start to see longer distance flights introduced to the Cypriot market? We have no flights greater than 6 hours.

  1. You would need a much larger aiport to facilitate the bigger planes. Larnaca is tiny compared to other international airports. Offering connection flights to other places would make more sense. Eg if Cyprus airways made a move and expanded to another country to offer connection flights.

  2. Map doesn’t have a direct flight to Spain, one of the largest EU countries. Let’s cover Europe first and long distance is a second thought.

  3. Is it just me, or have they severely reduced nonstop flights out of Cyprus in 2022?

Routes I’ve been watching all seem to have disappeared…or become multiple stop flights…

Is there an upcoming lockdown here? No one from Europe will fly down, so no nonstops out of here?

  4. The same reason Cyprus oil and gas will always be at a snails pace. The local gov wants to control operations instead of having a 3rd party (that knows how to do things right) do it. This way they can hide the corrupt way money is handled.

Does not matter they have no clue what they are doing, they do it their way.

  5. Flying is complicated and expensive, especially when competing with the bohemoths that are Emirates and Qatar. Their hub airports are relatively short distance from Cyprus and can take you anywhere in the world. A small carrier travelling to many destinations results in fewer travellers per aircraft, and “parking” and services at airports cost immense amounts of money which every airline competes for and every airport fights to sell and make profit off.
