French army base employees in Senegal worry for their jobs as military presence to end • FRANCE 24

Senegalese civilians employed by the French army met to express concern and demand good conditions of dismissal Wednesday, as France’s military presence in the country is set to end. Senegal’s President Bassirou Dioumaye Faye announced in a speech marking the new year that 2025 would see an end to all foreign military presence in the west African country.

  3. How was one even thinking this was permanent in the first place. This was not a South Korea and USA relationship of permanent military bases.
