They banned TikTok because in America we have privacy rights (not as strong as Europe’s, but they exist). In Europe, companies like Google, meta, etc house their data in Europe or have easy access to it via other means for oversight. Same in America.
Guess how much oversight happens on TikTok? Zero. Comparing a state runned entity over a company? The logic behind forcing a sale was sound and so was a ban of they didnt do something about this lack of transparency. Instead we just let them run our election into the ground with propaganda from the algorithm that will help China (remember trump hating China? Now it’s somehow danish people and Canada) get enough data to own america, or at least entirely level the playing field, for a generation.
George Washington is probably spinning in his grave. “They let this motherfucker become president… Twice??” I can’t tell you what the earth will be like after Trump dies, but a 10% of my best years on this planet will be seeing our country torn asunder by this worthless excuse for a human. How many trump coins and trump cons is it going to take?

The bipartisan agreement to ban TikTok was due to national security concerns.
Trump is delaying the ban due to how much the app is worth, ~$100billion.
I don’t know why this hasn’t been pointed out more in the media.
Trump is literally putting a dollar amount on US national security.
