A perfect example of why the US is no longer a reliable long-term geopolitical partner: Its commitments are only valid for 4 year increments.
If one administration won’t honor the commitments of the last administration, you can’t really depend on your agreements with Americans.
CONVICTED FELON
What annoys me most about him doing this last term and this term is that he won’t even have to worry about climate change because he will have long kicked the bucket whenever it kicks in. But everyone else suffers more because of this orange buffoon in the future.
Didn’t they just produce the most oil ever last year? Bunch of fucking donkeys.
The irony is that they’re saying that they have to step up the energy sector as to not get overtaken by China. But where China is taking the lead is in the renewable energy market. A sector that that the Trump Oligarchy wants to make the US quit entirely.
“I was saved by god to make america great again” is full Paul Atreides, but ok sure lol

Goodbye, humanity. Enjoy the warm weather.
And it’ll get reversed 4 years from now
Just a reminder that this would be second time the US has withdrawn from the treaty, having been a signatory in 2016, withdrawing in 2020, rejoining in 2021 and now leaving again probably around 2026.
Presumably they’ll be joining again in 2028, assuming of course democratic elections are still a thing.
USA is a trash oligarchy.
Well the gas and oil companies got what they paid for.
Bye bye nature.
Too bad the problem isn’t drilling. It’s refining. we don’t have the right refineries. We ship all our oil elsewhere to be refined.
Drill baby drill will kill the price of oil and everyone’s job in the oil industry. Why would you drill when you can’t sell it and make a profit
The orange goblin wastes no time.
So the news stories this year were that the south east of the US is becoming uninsurable as it spends half the year under water from record breaking hurricanes, and the south west is becoming uninsurable as it spends half the year fighting record breaking fires. Naturally the US has responded by opting out of the international agreement to try and limit climate change.
… do you ever wonder why every other country thinks you’re a bunch of idiots?
Ima need the world to start sanctioning us till this admin cries uncle. It would hurt but we cannot be allowed to do this. There hasn’t been this much carbon in the atmosphere in MILLIONS of years.
Of course that’s one of the first things he does.
What a fucking embarrassment to mankind he’s making all of his citizens into. I’m never going to be proud of my country again, am I?
Reminder: leaving the Paris Agreement was why Elon Musk left the White House in Trump v1.
Ok, cool cool cool cool cool. huge problem though, where are we gonna refine it? Our refineries aren’t set up for our type of oil.
That’s what the people voted for… or didn’t vote against.
Good job, voters. Good job.
Now, excuse me while i increase my long position in Chevron and Exxon. 😐
Regardless of what anyone thinks about the Paris Agreement itself, it’s quite clear that on the world stage the word of the USA now means literally nothing.
Funny thing is the world is pulling away from oil and gas cars even in USA wind farms are popular he can’t stop progress only slow it down
If it makes anyone feel better, there are still a handful of states going the complete opposite direction. Not going to be nice on the wallet, but it’s absolutely worth it.
And just like that China became the world leader in renewable technology, taking massive market share of wind and solar technology for the next 20 years. America, stunned and confused, not understanding how this happened, added more tariffs on China’s technology, without investing in its own renewables. Students throughout America wanted to study history to see how this happened, but history and civics was no longer taught in high school, as the Trump administration had defunded the department of education.
Hasn’t the oil companies already told Trump that they are not drilling anything more? Expecting oil companies to spent millions drilling for the only goal to be cheaper for the consumer is not the ROI the oil companies want. Take a several million/billion dollar loss for 4 years because people voted for incompetence.
To be clear, president can’t just expand drilling. Oil companies produce more oil than they ever have right now under Biden. And they have made it clear their willingness to drill more is based on their own business economics and where they want the price at.

Next week Trump will go on a victory lap saying the U.S. is the largest oil producer in the world. Just ignore the fact that we were already in that position previously.
I don’t understand why people are in so much of a rush to use up a limited national resource as fast as possible and sell it off to other countries. The stuff is a national security asset. When the world runs out of easy oil or straight up runs out we’re going to wish we didnt sell off our reserves so a few people at the top could profit.
It’s ridiculous, most people don’t even benefit from this, just a few wealthy people at the top. We’re not like Norway where everyone profits from the nation’s oil by doing stuff like putting the profits into social programs and retirement programs.
There are already more drilling permits than the oil companies want to use. So him saying he’s expanding drilling is just meaningless, performative BS that his simpletons will eat with a spoon.

Thank god, we can finally go from the number one oil producer to the number one oil producer…
