the raiffeisen bank in luxembourg has nothing to do with the Raiffeisen bank in Austria.
Nestle? I’m shocked!
Many of these corps. have pulled out of the Russian market the past two weeks for some undetermined amount of time; however, I do believe Auchan is holding strong?? Please tell me I am wrong.
So much for the McDo’s Doctrine/The Lexus and the Olive Tree philosophy. Or, maybe, Friedman is correct? Junk food for thought on a late Sunday night. ;-(
Don’t forget global jet in Luxembourg which operates and owned by Russian oligarchs:
Lx-gvi Roman Abramovich
Lx-ray Roman Abramovich
Lx-lux Roman Abramovich
Lx-glx alisher usmanov
Lx-fly Eugène shvidler
Pfizer
Pfizer… there goes my sex life 😢
Some of these, if pulled out of Russia, would basically result in a human tragedy in the other direction as well. What to say. War. No winners at the end of the day…
Unfortunately this is not as black and white as it seems. As someone else said, it would be a disaster if some of them pull out.
At the same time, to think a Corp considers anything else other than profit is crazy and wishful thinking.
Most companies who pulled out, they did as a marketing scheme or pressured by media or the people. To have a not so close comparison, look at what the Serbian president said, that he feels pressure to limit contact with russia. Even if he will close the airspace, he will still be buddies with putin, as does Hungary.
While I agree to what we the west are doing to Russian oligarchy and important people, I don’t think that destroying the life of lower class people is ok.
You might say that putting pressure on the people will make them rise up and put pressure on the system. That might be true, but look at what is happening to those who are protesting. Jail.
Anyway, just my two cents about the situation. Down vote away.
