Long story short I met a russian guy who lived in Slovenia and after hanging with him he gave me a coin 😄is there any meaning , a custom or whatsoever?
It’s a ~~commemorative~~ collector coin for the 20th anniversary of Slovenian independence – it should have a picture of Triglav on the back (3 peak mountain).
This one doesn’t seem like there’s any special significance. I’ve seen some memorial coins for 3€, but this one seems to be just 3€, so that’s the special part about it
This are collector coins (not to be confused with commemorative (2 €) coins). These coins are legal tender only in the issuing eurozone country and not in others, as is the case with other forms of euro notes and coinage.
They are not super valuable, but they are a nice thing to have.
Without seeing the other side I’d hazard a guess that’s one of the commemorative special coins, specifically the one commemorating 20 years of our independence. Unlike other EUR coins those are only acceptable as payment in the country that they were issued in.

Giving a coin represents comrade or unity and proves membership of a certain group, as well as honoring the actions of those who receive them.
